Probably our craziest day yet on site.
GC Joe Murray and his crew are pouring concrete under our feet, with a pump from the highside, while John Clarke and his crew are pushing the silo caps into position for installation.
All the while, Gabel's crew is wrestling with big timber and the fitup of Bent 1 (the second being built), while back in the cutting barn the layup of the entry bent progresses, cutting runs down to stems and seeds on the rest of the parts, and we integrate two new arrivals, Marci and Mike.
Joe Bell from Cabin Creek came buy to make sure we had enough of everything, and to deliver his good wishes for our success Cabin Creek has been very supportive; loaning us their loader, and their genius (Kevin Lanier) and recently providing a generous supply of locust pegs for the main posts. You'll see Cabin Creek on the t-shirt, but that doesn't go nearly far enough to thank them properly.
Good stuff, but it's hot, and a bit chaotic. Charles Judd reports 22 gallons of water consumed in the Festival Barn, which sounds about right. The site crew's consumption is harder to monitor since they're right across the creek from the Spring House, and a fellow or two has been known to duck in there for some shade, water and chill from time to time.
Fortunately the good vibes and good food from the school continue to sustain us.
We ended our day with an evening leadership team meeting so that we're on the same page. This will be presented to Night School on Tuesday.
Monday's Night School featured Brian Phillip's bag of rigging tricks and deliscious gear, culminating in a talk/demo on rescue from heights. Hope we don't need it.
